Alexander Isak is not in the Swedish squad against France.
The forward is injured and therefore will not start.
– Alex has had some feelings, which has meant that he is not one hundred percent to be today, says the captain of the national team, Janne Andersson, to TV4.
Many had wanted to see Dejan Kulusevski and Alexander Isak in the starting eleven against France in the Nations League. But Sportbladet could already reveal yesterday that none of them would have the opportunity.
When the eleven arrived, it was clear that Isak was not even on the bench. The forward has the feeling of being injured and, therefore, is forced to remain standing in front of the game.
– Alex has had some feelings, which has made me not one hundred percent to be with him today. We hope he can play against Portugal. Same with Sebastian Andersson, that’s why we called John (Guidetti) and (Isak) Kiese Thelin, says national team captain Janne Andersson on TV4.
“It has good balance”
The league captain also explained his choice of bank to Kulusevski.
– I have access to a lot of good players, but we have seen how we achieve a good balance in the team. We have creative players, but also hardworking players, so I think we have a good balance. That’s not to say it wouldn’t have been so great if Dejan had been involved, but I have chosen this team today.
