Tenth in a row without a win for Gais

Nine in a row without a win have now turned into ten. Despite Gai’s long scoring drought snapped towards Öster, the green-black returns to Gothenburg with cloudy eyes.

Öster dropped Gais from the kickoff with several solid situations and the play of James Keene. And it was his stab that led to Öster’s first goal.

A longer ball led to the Englishman’s head, and then Nicolas Mortensen ran far back. The timing was good and the shot slid over Mathias Karlsson into Gais’ goal.

Yarsuvat broke the target drought

The curtain was down. But the mackerel picked him up and gave himself at least a glimmer of hope.

August Wängberg was close a few minutes later. From a meter away, he threw the ball directly at his former teammate Damir Mehic. And Gais was really good during this period.

Meinhard Olsen, fired a direct post into Öster’s hand and the referee awarded a penalty. Ricky Yarsuvat stepped forward and with some effort, missed the penalty, put the tie. The ball bounced straight into Gais ‘striker, who only had to put his foot there for Gais’ first goal since August 2 to be a fact.

– We are dangerous in that period and we have good pressure throughout the first half, says Adnan Maric.

This is how Gais played (4-3-3):

Mathias Karlsson – August Wängberg, Boris Lumbana, Charlie Weberg, Niclas Andersén – Haris Cirak, Adnan Maric, Joachim Åberg – Meinhard Olsen, Ricky Yarsuvat, Mervan Celik.

Dangerous Mortensen was present again directly at the start of the second half. With his head, he precisely controlled the home team’s advantage.

A minute later Mathias Karlsson had to stop at the goal line. He would have more to do. Eight minutes into the second half, August Wängberg escaped and dropped a local player.

Petar Petrovic was the stability himself on the subsequent eleven meter kick and let Mathias Karlsson lunge in the wrong direction before rolling at 3-1. This time, Gais couldn’t respond so quickly.

– We take a cold shower immediately and it will be quite a climb. They push well and we won’t get out of their pressure. There are things to work on, although I don’t think we are a worse team, says Adnan Maric.

The offensive difficulties of the Greens and Blacks were recognized.

The new Meinhard Olsen was more active at first, but his involvement in the match waned as time went on. Adnan Maric reached a distance shooting position in the second half, but was unable to change the image of the match in Gai’s favor. Even though there were no points in this match, Häcken’s newest acquisition still had to do 90 minutes and show off to his new teammates.

– Physically it felt good, but after the game you are depressed. It’s hard to hold your head up when you’ve lost, he says.

The players who will score, Mervan Celik and Ricky Yarsuvat in particular, have struggled desperately to get into good positions. Players who must prevent opponents from scoring goals lost the selection in their own penalty area.

When Petar Petrovic then growled the ball at Fredrik Lundgren’s head with a quarter to go, the thing was definitely done. Gais has not won in ten rounds at the Superettan and is still in a negative place in the standings.

– Sometimes it goes the way you want and sometimes it doesn’t go the way you want with the matches, the important thing is that we continue to work very hard and focus on what we have to do, says Adnan Maric.
