It was at 08:00 on May 19 this year that the police were alerted to a shooting at a bus stop in Viksjö. A man between the ages of 20 and 25 was found outdoors with gunshot wounds and taken to hospital for treatment.
Last week, three people could be arrested on suspicion of incitement and complicity in an assassination attempt. The person suspected of shooting was also arrested on Tuesday.
– Much work has been done to arrest the suspects. The assassination attempt took place in a public setting and displays ruthless behavior. All those arrested have connections to criminal networks and we work hard and directed to break the development of violence, says Jacob van Rooij, head of investigation responsible for the case in the Stockholm North police area, in a press release.
The arrested man is a Stockholm County resident and was 16 years old at the time of the crime. Then he had escaped from a youth home where he was admitted.
– Police have already pointed out before that we see older offenders using young people to commit crimes. Even in this case, the research indicates that this is exactly what happened, says Jacob van Rooij.
The people arrested last week are now in custody. They are in their 20s and 30s and reside in Stockholm County. Two of them are suspected of being an accessory to an assassination attempt and the third of instigating an assassination attempt.
