Tech companies: a long way to go to normal

The business situation has temporarily improved and order intake, capacity utilization and labor demand are increasing from low levels, according to the Teknikföretagen barometer for the third quarter.

But there is still a long way to go towards a normal business situation and an increase in production at an annual rate, the barometer shows.

“The crisis of the crown is like a big black cloud over the future prospects. There is a long way to go before companies reach a normal business situation and production increases at an annual rate,” writes Teknikföretagen in a statement from press.

The barometer indicates that the production level will increase between the second and third quarters of this year, but compared to the third quarter of last year, the production level will be alarmingly low, according to the survey.

“Despite increasing order intake for the technology industry as a whole, the size of the order book remains low,” writes the industry association.

The business cycle barometer for technology companies for the third quarter includes evaluations of 521 companies, with sales totaling SEK 823 billion, of which 81% is for export.
