On Thursday, Ka 0000-skolan high school in Lund announced that two students and a teacher had been suspended due to an ongoing investigation into abusive treatment and harassment.
On its website, the school wrote that a small group of students “are crazy about totalitarianism” and that, among other things, they have greeted Hitler in the schoolyard.
The teacher who was fired now speaks about the situation for the first time in an interview with SVT Nyheter Skåne.
There he explains that he extended a photo of a student with his arm raised in what can be interpreted as a Hitler salute.
– I should have realized that the image could be misinterpreted, but my judgment clicked. I’m sorry now, the teacher tells SVT.
Spread on Facebook
According to the teacher, there was no such greeting, but it was a lesson with a group exercise in which the students raised or lowered their arms.
– My big mistake was that I posted the image on the class Facebook page afterwards, without realizing how it could be perceived. Since then, students have spread it on their private Snapchat accounts along with a lot of other nonsense, to put it bluntly. There, it has been given a completely different framework, Nyheter Skåne tells SVT.
