The incident occurred at the Swedish handball match between Rimbo and Kungälv in March. Rimbot’s coach Dick Tollbring was cursed after a club player was sent off for two minutes.

Then Tollbring dropped a racist comment directed at the judge, about which Kungälvs-Posten was the first to report.

– I have been doing handball for about 20 years and this was the second time in my life that I had to endure such a thing in handball. Handball has gotten rid of racism and I hope that from now on it will continue to be racism. But what happened, happened, the judge told the newspaper.

Can appeal

Now a verdict has come, according to Sportbladet. The magazine writes that Tollbring is suspended for a year after a decision by the union’s disciplinary committee, which considers the act to be extremely unsportsmanlike and “considers itself prevented from judging the crime as anything less serious.”

According to the newspaper, Tollbring writes in his answer at the trial that “he realizes that it did not sound good” and also adds “but at the same time I have said it and it cannot be said”.

Tollbring is not allowed to participate in training in matches, but is entitled to train teams. You have three weeks to appeal the verdict.

SVT Sport has asked Tollbring for a comment.
