Israel and Bahrain have agreed to establish full diplomatic contacts with each other, Bahrain’s King Hamad ibn Isa al-Khalifah and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote with Donald Trump in a joint statement on Friday. The statement was posted by the President of the United States on Twitter.
“A historic step towards greater peace in the Middle East,” the three leaders called the agreement in a statement.

Bahrain is coming the agreement with Israel will follow the United Arab Emirates, which will sign a peace agreement with Israel next week. The representatives are expected to travel to Washington to sign the agreement.
Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have recently opened their airspace for transit flights to and from Israel, removing a major obstacle to global air traffic. The welcome of the flights is one of a series of signs of reduction in the Middle East.
