Late last year, a Swedish soccer talent was arrested by the police, suspected of drug crimes. The player, who is in his 20s and has spent several seasons at the Allsvenskan and who has also played on the Swedish national youth team, had 33 grams of cocaine at the arrest, Expressen says.

On interrogation, he pleads guilty:

– I’d help a friend with a debt. There was a certain amount left and he could make this sum on what was left. The amount left in the debt was SEK 20,000, says the player in the police interview according to the newspaper.

In the interrogation, the player, who played at Allsvenskan until last year, says that the people who pressed the debt called him to a match-fixing, which would make the debt “disappear quickly.” Something that the talent did not agree with.

– I didn’t want to and I haven’t played that much either, he says.

The Express have been in contact with the players club, which is new for this season, and they are surprised by the news.

– Are you kidding me? We have not heard anything about this. Shock! This is a shock. We are talking about a charming and pleasant boy, calm and sensual. A guy we believe in. Oh … this was a fucking blow, the club president tells the magazine.

The player has been brought to trial. He is suspected of drug offenses and is therefore at risk of being imprisoned. The trial will take place on May 20.
