Swedish radio Ekot account hacked

The first post came shortly after 1:30 pm on Saturday.

“Ok, listen, I hate black people, that was it.”, was tweeted from the Sveriges Radio Ekot account, in English.

The second post cited a rap song titled “Sim Swap.”

SIM swapping is a type of fraud in which a person manages to exchange phone numbers from one SIM card to another. Thereafter, the person can access accounts on social media or other services through two-factor authentication.

Obscene Tweets

A dozen tweets, all in English, followed at a dizzying pace during the afternoon, some with obscene and racist content.

The tweets call for violence against blacks, among other things.

Just before 2pm, “I AM THE GREAT HACKER” was tweeted from Ekot’s account, with a link to an account claiming to sell usernames.

Sveriges Radio’s internal politics account has apparently been taken over by outsiders as well.

SR confirms that Ekot’s Twitter account has been hacked. Ekot’s manager, Klas Wolf-Watz, calls the incident “serious” and further says that his staff is working to resolve the problem.
