Svahn’s WC finished – lose all three miles

It was not a fun World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf for Linn Svahn. The star already came out in the sprint semifinals last week and has been away from competitions ever since.

Now it is clear that the WC ends the same way it began for Linn Svahn, in minor.

When Saturday’s women’s championship ends with three miles in classic style, Svahn is missing. The coach of the national team, Anders Byström, announces at a press conference that he is not feeling well.

– The idea was for her to drive three miles. But she hasn’t had time to recover enough to compete tomorrow, she says.

It’s a cold and a stuffy nose, says Byström.

– She does not have a terminal illness, she has only had a difficult World Cup and she will surely get good experiences from this too.

Another who has had a bad time at the World Cup is Charlotte Kalla. But the 33-year-old is part of the quartet that will represent Sweden at three miles.

Kalla showed her support for Svahn.

– We support each other, she says.

The three miles start at 12.30 on Saturday. The first backup is Jonna Sundling.
