Eight people are being prosecuted in connection with the theft of two military vehicles earlier this year, announces the Public Ministry.
It was on February 4 that the vehicles disappeared from the Armed Forces warehouse in Enköping. Two people are charged with aggravated robbery and unauthorized access to a protected object. Two others are accused of complicity in aggravated robbery and a fifth of aggravated robbery for having bought one of the vehicles.
In addition, two people are prosecuted for flagrant illegal use and one person for aiding and inciting illegal use.
“I consider the theft to be serious due to the fact that these are vehicles of importance to the defense of national security and that they have a high value,” said the prosecutor of the chamber Lena Jansson in a press release.
Several of the suspects deny having committed a crime.
“None of the defendants is related to the Armed Forces as far as has been revealed. The driving force behind the acts appears to have been primarily a desire for adventure and a common interest in vehicles. I mean there has also been an economic motive for the theft, ”says Lena Jansson.
All people are 20 years old.
