On November 14 last year, Wilma Andersson disappeared in Uddevalla and a major search operation was launched. In addition to the public and the military, at most 150 police officers searched for the 17-year-old.

But Wilma was never found alive. Two courts have ruled that the 17-year-old was killed and stabbed by her boyfriend, Tishko Ahmed.

The district court sentenced Ahmed to life in prison, but the Court of Appeal later reduced the sentence to 18 years, the highest prison sentence in Sweden.

However, the verdict of the Court of Appeal was appealed to the Supreme Court both by Wilma’s family, who wanted Tishko Ahmed to be sentenced to life in prison, and by Ahmed himself, who demanded that the charge be completely dismissed.

The appeal is rejected

The prosecutor in the case, Jim Westerberg, has previously said that he does not believe HD will take over the case:

– It touches a legal issue, but basically it is an assessment of the evidence and the issues of the evidence are not something that HD raises.

And Westerberg was right. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court announced that it will not grant authorization to appeal, which Bohusläningen was the first to report.

In its decision, the court writes:

Permission to appeal may be granted if it is important to law enforcement management that the appeal be heard by the Supreme Court. In addition, authorization to appeal may be granted in exceptional cases, that is, when there are special reasons to appeal to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has reviewed the material. There has been no reason to grant authorization to appeal. “
