A loud blast took place at an apartment building in Hagalund in Solna, on the outskirts of Stockholm, on Sunday night. The detonation took place in an apartment in the house and several apartment windows were damaged, but no one was injured.

Police were alerted to the scene by several people who heard the blow.

“It is not entirely clear what has hit, we are trying to find out now,” says Anna Westberg, press spokeswoman for the Stockholm Police.

Several people who lived in the house were voluntarily evacuated. Shortly after 3 pm, the police announced that they could return to their apartments.

National bomb squads were called to the scene and later in the evening gave the green light to bomb technicians to carry out a technical investigation.

– The technicians finished their investigation on Sunday morning and have left the site. We hope it becomes clear soon what the hit was, says Anna Westberg.

The police have launched a preliminary investigation into the public destruction. No one was arrested Sunday morning.
