Hong Kong police have seized a royal paper. It is a stolen calligraphy scroll with poetry written by former Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong, but when it was found, it was cut into two parts.

The object, valued at the equivalent of almost SEK 2.7 billion, was one of several valuables stolen during a robbery at a collector in Hong Kong in September. On Wednesday, the police clarified that the scroll and two bronze coins were found, but that the long piece of paper was cut into two parts.

Three people have been arrested in the investigation, one for robbery, another for receiving and another for having helped a criminal. Police are still searching for two more suspects, who were likely involved in the actual robbery. According to investigators, the public has assisted the police in contacting a taxi driver who has steered them in the right direction.

The robbery took place at the apartment of Chinese collector Fu Chunxiao in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The total value of the thefts, including stamps and revolutionary memorabilia from the continent, is estimated at the equivalent of about SEK 5.8 billion.
