Ghislaine Maxwell, 58, was arrested on July 2. She is accused of having kept her ex-boyfriend, Jeffrey Epstein, with girls. His crime is part of the FBI-led investigation into the sex crime plot for which the now-dead billionaire is accused.

Maxwell has been in custody in Brooklyn, New York since his arrest. But now her husband, businessman Scott Borgerson, 44, is fighting for her release.

According to the Daily Mail, Borgeson has offered 25 million dollars, equivalent to almost 212 million Swedish crowns, as collateral for the wife. In addition, other family members have helped with five million dollars, just over 42 million crowns.

Stepchildren “crushed”

The Daily Mail spoke to Brian Basham, Ghislaine Maxwell’s public relations manager. She says her husband and two stepchildren are “overwhelmed” by the arrest. They were also deeply surprised when they discovered that one of the girls Maxwell gave to Epstein was only 14 years old.

“Scott is devastated and so are the children, because Ghislaine has been like a real mother to them,” Brian Basham told the Daily Mail.

– They lived very harmoniously before this happened. I have been told that Scott’s children had to be taken out of school because of all the attention, he continues.

The boys, who are 13 and 10 respectively, had Scott Borgerson with his ex-wife.

The businessman married Ghislaine Maxwell in 2016, after which they moved into a $ 20 million villa in the Manchester area by the sea in Massachusetts.
