Stefan Löfven looks out from above

[ad_1]

During the spring, confidence in Prime Minister Stefan Löfven increased considerably. But as other political problems have taken their place alongside the crown crisis, the pendulum has swung.

Last month, Löfven fell eight percentage points, and in September the decline continues, albeit marginally and within the margin of error. However, the new Sifo poll, on behalf of Expressen, means that Stefan Löfven loses his first place on the trust list.

– Now Jonas Sjöstedt (V) returns to the top. In a statistical sense they are the same size, but it is clear that this is a symbolic change. The prime minister also ends up under the resignation of a party leader, says Toivo Sjörén, Sifo’s head of public opinion.

Stefan Löfven, for his part, receives a high rating from his own voters, with 87 percent of Social Democratic voters responding that they have confidence in the Prime Minister. It also remains popular with women voters.

– Stefan Löfven is very strong among women, he has 47 percent confidence and there he also beats Jonas Sjöstedt. The opposite is true for Jimmie Åkesson (SD), and also for Ulf Kristersson (M), who is more confident among men than among women. So the moderates still have slightly more voters among women, says Toivo Sjörén.

Annie Lööf gains more confidence

However, the biggest change in the September poll is that Annie Lööf has returned from parental leave and is rewarded with a five percentage point increase in confidence.

– The Center Party has announced that it has returned from parental leave in a resounding way, through, among other things, appearances and speeches. It has taken effect.

In total, Lööf garners 30 percent of the voters’ trust. If only women had responded, the figure rises to 39 percent, while the corresponding figure among men is 22 percent.

– Lööf has comparatively strong confidence among women, while men lower the overall rating. It’s worth noting, says Toivo Sjörén.

Not least, the leader of the center has his own voters in an iron fist. None of the C voters in the polls say that they do not trust their party leader.

– It is almost extreme in this survey. There is clear enthusiasm for Annie Lööf among members of the center party.

Low confidence among their own voters

The spokesperson for MP Isabella Lövin is also gaining confidence. This despite the fact that he recently announced that he will leave politics at the end of the year.

– It probably has to do with the fact that it has received a little more attention in recent weeks, says Toivo Sjörén.

Lövin’s colleague spokesperson, Per Bolund, is still at the end of the poll. According to the head of Sifo, the Minister of Financial Markets is still unknown to many voters.

– But it really shouldn’t be. It has a prominent role in fiscal policy and a great platform to start with, but it may not have been on issues that appeal to Green Party voters.

Environmentalists and Liberals are also the constituencies that give the lowest ratings to their own party leaders. Only 45 percent of voters in parliament trust Per Bolund, while leader L Nyamko Sabuni has 62 percent of his own voters with him.

– Liberal voters are quite lukewarm in Nyamko Sabuni’s opinion. But here you should also be a little careful when interpreting the numbers, because there are not so many, says Toivo Sjörén.
