It is a person close to Stefan Löfven who has met a person with confirmed covid-19. According to information from TT, these are not any of Löfven’s employees.
The person tested negative, but on the advice of a doctor, Stefan Löfven and his wife Ulla will remain in isolation until further notice. The Prime Minister will work remotely and perform a crown test as soon as possible.
“It is the only responsible thing that can be done in this situation. Development is rapidly going in the wrong direction. More are infected. More die. It is a serious situation,” he writes in the Facebook post.
Both Stefan Löfven and his wife are fine and have no symptoms, according to the publication.
The message comes after the spread of the infection accelerated again in Sweden. On Tuesday, 31 new deaths were reported, followed by another 28 on Wednesday, with one or two deaths a day during the summer and a little in the fall.
Both individual hospitals and entire regions have switched to staff mode, and several regions in Sweden have received stricter local restrictions in an attempt to slow the spread of the infection.
In his Facebook post, Stefan Löfven recalls following both special local restrictions and national advice.
“Take advice, listen to it, follow it.”
He also reiterates the Public Health Agency’s advice on how to maintain good hand hygiene and stay home in case of illness, and urges everyone to follow it.
“As I often say, this is not general advice, but that is what applies,” he writes and continues:
“Together, we make sure that Sweden also passes this test.”
This applies if you have met someone with covid-19
If you have met someone with covid-19, you should remain in isolation, regardless of whether you have any symptoms or not. You may still be infected and should be on the lookout for symptoms during the incubation period, which is up to 14 days, although symptoms are most common within five days.
During the incubation period, you should avoid contact with other people and, if possible, work from home. If you have symptoms, go to 1177.se to see what applies to covid-19 sampling in the region where you live.
There is no advice on what to do if you have met someone who has had contact with someone who tested positive.
