Before the week of sports holidays, snow cover is also expected to remain across the country.

Sports vacations begin next week and many plan to be outside for various winter activities.
This year, the cold has linked a real grip on Sweden. February has been unusually cold and high pressure over Norway is pushing the icy polar winds down over Sweden.
And before the first week of sports vacations, the cold remains throughout the country.
– It will be a high pressure that controls the weather even week seven, which provides conditions for it to be cold, but also offers a lot of sun in general, says Mikael Sjöstrand, a meteorologist with the Klart weather service.

“Snow towns find their way”
The temperature is expected to be between 10 and 20 degrees below zero in the mountainous area. But there won’t be much more snow according to the forecast, but the snow cover remains across the country.
– There is not much snow, it is this high pressure that controls the weather. So it’s mostly dry weather, but at the end of week seven there are some snow towns that find their way over the mountains. But we are only talking about a few centimeters, says Mikael Sjöstrand.
Before the second week of sports holidays, the eighth week, it is expected to be somewhat milder but even colder.
Most of the snow is not completely unexpected in the mountainous areas.
– Several places have a lot of snow. We have Bydalsfjällen in Jämtland, Branäs in Jämtland and also the mountains in southern Lapland where there is also a lot of snow, says Mikael Sjöstrand.
Single grade plus
Even in the southern parts it will be cold but also very sunny, according to the forecast. So for those who want to be in the snow, it may be time to take advantage of next week.
– In southern Sweden, the air is a little softer starting to come in, which means the west coast, Skåne and maybe Blekinge will get a single positive grade and a bit of rain by the end of next week, he says Mikael Sjöstrand.
