Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg (Høyre) tells her compatriots that due to the corona pandemic they should not expect to be able to travel abroad next Easter.
– I think we can count on a fairly normal summer. I think we should look forward to spending Easter here in Norway. “I don’t think we got that far then that we all got vaccinated,” Solberg tells Norwegian TV 2.
In Norway, as in much of the rest of Europe, vaccination began on Sunday.
The Norwegian Prime Minister also says that she does not believe that Norway’s neighboring countries will have a contagious situation that will make it possible for Norwegians to travel abroad on Easter 2021, which falls in the first days of April.
– The most important thing now is not to relax for the next few months. We won’t get a new spike of infection, Solberg says.
According to the Norwegian Public Health Agency and Johns Hopkins University, 421 people in Norway have died from covid-19. Approximately 45,000 have been found infected.
