Sochi continues to abandon the Swedes.

According to information from Sportbladet, Linus Johansson will now be the third to be forced to leave the KHL club affected by the crisis.

The Swedish quintet from Sochi has become a duo in a few days. They have released goalkeeper Joel Lassinantti, according to information from Sportbladet they will do the same with forward Marcus Nilsson, and now Sportbladet can reveal that Linus Johansson will also be fired.

“I can’t comment on that,” writes Johansson’s agent, Patrik Aronsson.

The 27-year-old center is on the disabled list, so the club must wait for him to rehabilitate before releasing him. Sochi has announced that they and Lassinantti are going their separate ways, but nothing more than Nilsson or Johansson.

After 22 games played, Sochi is second to last in the KHL western conference. The team has seven points to Podolsk, which is last in the playoffs.

Two swedes left

Johansson, with pasts in both Djurgården and Färjestad, during his KHL debut season scored one goal and one assist in eight games. Last at FBK, where he was team captain, he scored nine goals and 19 assists in 49 games.

The Swedes who will remain in Sochi in the future are forward Malte Strömwall and defender David Rundblad.
