The promised snowfall has now reached parts of western Sweden.

Up to 10 centimeters are expected in their rooms and SMHI Class 1 warns of snow and rain.

In several parts of the north of the country, snowfalls of 5 to 10 centimeters can occur during Sunday. SMHI has issued a Class 1 warning in, inter alia, the interior of Norrbotten, the Norrbotten Coastal Lands and the Västerbotten Coastal Lands.

In Dalarna, Gävleborg and Värmland, there may be some snow.

“It is a cold front that moves and in connection with it comes rain and snow,” says Moa Hallberg, a meteorologist at SMHI.

The snowfall is moving east and is expected to have passed on Sunday night.

Further south, it is hotter and the temperature can rise to 19 degrees. In Skåne, Blekinge and Öland and Gotland there is also a risk of forest fires.

– It’s pretty dry on the ground since there hasn’t been enough rain in the past few days, says Moa Hallberg.

However, summer heat is not expected for next week. The coldest weather is entering as of Monday morning, and it applies throughout the country.

– In the middle of the day, it looks like we will probably reach 11-12 degrees in southern Sweden. But in most places we are below ten degrees, says Moa Hallberg, adding:

– It’s a little cooler than normal.
