SMHI issues very high wind warnings in various parts of the country.

It is the remnants of US Hurricane Zeta that will bring bad weather across the country.

– We go out and warn of very strong winds in these areas, but it will be unusually windy in most of the country, he says.

Severe weather, snow chaos and flurries. The weather in the coming days in Sweden will be very varied, but the common denominator across the country is that it will be severe weather.

SMHI now issues class 1 warnings for very high winds along the coast of Bohus, northern Örebro county, Dalsland, and the areas around Värnen in Västra Götaland.

But it will be windy across the country, says Moa Hallberg, a meteorologist at SMHI.

– We go out and warn of very strong winds in these areas, but it will be unusually windy in most of the country, he says.

“Hard time”

She says it can fly up to 24 meters per second in the worst affected regions.

– It will be pretty rough weather in the worst areas and some areas may experience this as normal fall weather, she says.

A class 1 warning was also issued in the far north of Sweden.

– In the northernmost mountains of Lapland, strong winds will mix with snow and wet snow. There will be very difficult weather there, says Moa Hallberg.

Orkanrester

The reason behind the difficult weather is, among other things, the hurricane called Zeta that this week has claimed several lives and left millions without power in the United States. But such weather is not to be expected in Sweden.

– They are the remains of the hurricane and a low pressure that arrives on Sweden. But they won’t be as strong as the United States, says Moa Hallberg.

The harshest weather is expected to arrive on Monday. With the low pressure and the remnants of hurricanes also come milder winds, which means that next week will be warmer than normal for the season in several parts of the country.
