The spring weather has been appreciated in various parts of the country in recent days.

In Hästveda, in the municipality of Hässleholm, 18.6 degrees was measured on Saturday and the sun has warmed in several places.

But now comes the backlash.

Already on Saturday night, a snowfall falls on the north of Norrland, and that climate sets the tone for much of the country in the coming days.

“It is a front that enters the country and will pass,” says Johan Groth, a meteorologist at the Storm Geo meteorological institute.

Multiple snowfall warnings

SMHI now warns of snowfall in Dalarna County, inland Gävleborg and around the coast in Västerbotten County and Norrbotten County. During the night until Sunday and during Sunday morning, snowfalls of up to 10 centimeters can fall.

– There will be wet snow along the front and the greatest amount of precipitation appears to end in northwest Svealand and southeast Norrland, says Johan Groth, who says the snow will fall in more places than the areas for which SMHI has emitted warnings.

Further south, there are possibilities of sun and heat during early Sunday, but then the rain comes with low pressure and bad weather keeps the country in check even at night until Monday.

The warning to road users.

– I think snowflakes will be affected even in North Uppland at night until Monday, but nothing that goes to bed.

SMHI warns that there is a risk of slipping on the roads. Johan Groth sends a call to road users in the areas:

– You should be careful. In Norrland I don’t know what it looks like, but in other parts of the country it is the summer tires that have been sitting for a while, so now you need to be careful in these parts of the country.

During the beginning of next week, the cold weather will remain, but until next weekend the weather may become more stable and closer to normal May temperatures.
