It’s gotten smoother in Arizona, but Joe Biden’s lead is increasing slightly in Georgia. Vote counting is still taking place in four states in the United States, and all moves are for a few thousand votes.
A ballot box in Lucerne, Pennsylvania verifies the validity of a ballot.
Joe Biden looks set to become the next president, but the vote count is moving slowly. During the night and morning, no new status has been declared for any of the candidates.
New votes counted for the night, for example, have increased Biden’s lead in Georgia by 1,721 votes to 14,149, a margin so small that the percentages have not changed for any candidate.
Thus, several US media, such as CNN, remain with their report that Biden has secured 279 voters and Donald Trump 214.
Those numbers include Nevada, but not Arizona, as Fox News, for example, already announced to Joe Biden. On Fox News, the Democrat has 290 electoral votes. 270 electoral votes are needed to pinch the presidency.
To date, a total of approximately 76.5 million votes have gone to Biden (50.7 percent) and 71.7 million (47.5 percent) to Trump.
Here are the latest figures in states that are not yet Democrat Blue or Republican Red:
Pennsylvania – 20 electoral votes
With 98 percent of the votes counted, Biden has been declared the winner of the Wavemaster State of Pennsylvania. Currently, Biden has 49.7 percent of the vote and Trump 49.0.
The last votes are expected to take several days to count, and votes are always recalculated when the margin of victory is less than 0.5 percentage points.
Several legal processes are ongoing in the state. In Philadelphia, the Trump campaign has gained greater transparency in the counting process. They also wanted the counting of votes that arrived after election day to stop. It was dismissed by a state Supreme Court judge on Friday. However, mail-in votes received after 8 pm on Election Day are separated from other votes.
Georgia – 16 electoral votes
It’s an even race in the state of Georgia, where Biden is 49.5 percent to Trump’s 49.2 percent, with about 99 percent of the vote counted.
The position is so even that votes will probably be recalculated here. However, the recalculation can only take place when the result of the elections in the state has been approved, which can take until November 20.
Georgia judges rejected a request from Republicans not to count late votes. The two Republicans who in January are the party’s candidates in two new rounds of voting for the Senate, Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, have jointly asked the responsible prime minister of Georgia, Brad Raffensperger, to resign, as the state has not been able to ensure an “honest” result. Raffensperger, who is a Republican, has responded that the election was a “resounding success” from an administrative point of view.
North Carolina – 15 electoral votes
With just over 98 percent of the votes counted in North Carolina, Trump has 50.0 percent to Biden’s 48.7 percent. In number of votes, the difference between the candidates is about 75,000.
The state is traditionally a strong Republican stronghold, but no winner has yet been named, according to CNN. According to the authorities, a final result is not expected until the end of this week.
Arizona – 11 electoral votes
In Arizona, Trump continues to take advantage of Biden’s leadership and with 98 percent of the votes counted, Biden is at 49.4 percent against Trump’s 49.0. He is currently just under 13,000 votes in favor of Biden, a decrease of a few thousand in the last 24 hours.
Here too the vote count is expected to be prolonged. This is because it is automatically recalculated if the margin is small.
Nevada – 6 electoral votes
It is considered that Biden took home the victory in Nevada. With 98 percent of the votes counted, he leads Trump by 50.2 to 47.5 percent.
The responsible minister and the Nevada Supreme Court will review the votes on the fourth Tuesday in November. The candidate who has lost can request a new calculation up to three days after the exam.
Alaska – 3 electoral votes
Only 75 percent of the vote in Alaska is counted. Donald Trump currently leads 58.0 percent, compared to Biden’s 38.1 percent, according to US media.
As the vote counts, Biden has taken a tough stance on Trump, but no Democrat has brought Alaska home in decades.
