On Tuesday, information came out that several people on staff at Skistar’s facilities in Sälen fell ill with Covid-19, something the company later confirmed in a press release.

After the announcement, both the people with established infection and the employees who worked with them must have been quarantined, according to Skistar.

In an interview With Dalademokraten, Jonas Bauer, Skistar’s destination manager in Sälen, now says that after the announcement, business was down on Tuesday, but that from Wednesday it will gradually return to normal.

“On Tuesday, we closed many of our stores so that we could run the ski business sensibly. On Wednesday we are working in some more stores, this weekend we think that we will have everything open, “he tells the newspaper.

According to Jonas Bauer they also hope to be able to run the business fully before the sports vacation weeks in February-March.

Over the past week, a large number of tourists flocked to Sälen, prompting local businesses to beef up security and, among other things, to equip store staff with goggles, SVT Dalarna reports.
