On Tuesday, information came out that several people on staff at Skistar’s facilities in Sälen fell ill with Covid-19, something the company later confirmed in a press release.

According to Skistar, both the people with established infection and the employees who worked with them must have been quarantined after the announcement.

In an interview with Dalademokraten, Jonas Bauer, Skistar’s destination manager in Sälen, now says that after the announcement, business slowed down on Tuesday, but that from Wednesday it will gradually return to normal.

– On Tuesday, we closed many of our stores in order to run the ski business sensibly. On Wednesday, we are working in some more stores, this weekend it is thought that we will have everything open, he tells the newspaper.

According to Jonas Bauer, they also hope to be able to fully manage the business before the sports vacation weeks in February-March.

Over the past week, a large number of tourists flocked to Sälen, prompting local businesses to beef up security and, among other things, to equip store staff with goggles, SVT Dalarna reports.
