Alf Jönsson draws parallels to the latest pandemic, the 2009 swine flu.

– We have done it before and we are prepared but we know that it is complex. It is a logistical challenge with, among other things, different temperatures.

However, not everyone will have access to the vaccine immediately, some groups should take priority.

– We cannot count on everything coming at once, it will happen again and again. Priority will be given to risk groups and health professionals.

Alf Jönsson says he is confident in the work being done by various pharmaceutical companies to develop safe vaccines.

– I am very confident with the approval of a vaccine, which will be a good thing.

No reduction of infection

Eva Melander, infection control physician, on the infection status:

– We still do not see a decrease in the curve, it is an increase in all age groups. Most of the cases are between 10 and 60 years old, but unfortunately we also see several older people affected.

– It exists in all municipalities, it is not possible to relax anywhere.

When asked by TT if there can be even more or more stringent measures, Eva Melander responds:

– There are ongoing discussions at the national level within the Public Health Agency, if it is possible to screw something else. From what I understand it’s underway for next week, but I’m still not familiar with what it means.

Pia Lundbom, director of health and medical care, says Skåne is forced to continue to reduce planned care, operations and reception capacity due to the burden of medical care.

– Last week about 100 planned operations were canceled, he says.
