On Wednesday afternoon, the Skåne Region issued a general recommendation for the people of Skåne before the upcoming Christmas holidays. The public is urged to avoid being overcrowded at stores during the noon sale, but also from all forms of indoor training.
The stricter advice on training and sports, which went into effect on December 21, still applies. But even children and young people are urged to refrain from exercising and playing sports indoors.
“The infection situation is now so dire that we advise against all forms of indoor training. This applies to all age groups. On the other hand, you can train and move outdoors with a maximum of eight people in the group and it is important to keep your distance even if you are outdoors ”, says Eva Melander, infection control doctor in the Skåne Region, in a Press release.
The spread of the infection in Skåne remains high and is slightly above the national average. The people of Skåne are urged to strictly follow the recommendations and keep their distance during the upcoming long weekends.
“Don’t go to the noon sale! Skåne is in a serious situation with a wide social spread of covid-19 with a great burden for health care. It really is not the time to be crowded in malls and stores right now, ”says Eva Melander.
