Skåne and Örebro can receive stricter general advice

In an interview with TV4, Anders Tegnell says that there may be explanations for why the number of cases has increased, such as increased testing.

– These dialogues should decide when these additional measures are needed, he says.

In addition, he says that the Public Health Agency during the week will have dialogues with various regions of Sweden.

Currently, Stockholm is not relevant for stricter general advice.

– Here the situation is much more mixed. Medical care doesn’t have a lot of pressure and is an important part of this. Above all, a spread has been observed among younger adults in Stockholm who have not been affected before.

At yesterday’s press conference, the Public Health Agency announced that general councils will be presented in Uppsala County after the increased spread.

With the new city councils, residents are urged not to associate with people with whom they do not share a home and, to the extent possible, to avoid public transportation.

The new strict advice applies for two weeks prior, but both can be lifted or further adjusted before then.

“Help us Scanians!”

Region Skåne held a press conference on Wednesday morning. There, Eva Melander confirmed that they will have contact with the Public Health Agency.

– We will have an unconditional dialogue if they see something we have to do, he says.

It is not yet relevant to introduce the same general advice as in Uppsala.

– The difference is that the care is affected by the increased spread of the infection, so it is not here in Skåne, says Eva Melander.

According to regional director Alf Jönsson, the region recommends that people continue to work from home. And he speaks harshly about personal responsibility.

– The whole Swedish model is about volunteering, but it is about personal responsibility. What can I give up? What can you and me do? Can I avoid going after work? Can I avoid going to that 60’s party?

According to infection control doctor Eva Melander, it is not in healthcare where the infection is spreading now, but in society.

– We had a huge spike last week. The average now is more than 100 infected per day, he says.

– But the vast majority have mild symptoms, that way it is positive.

Previously, the spread of the infection has increased the most in the Malmö region, but is now rapid throughout most of the region.

– The infected are found all over Skåne. Especially many cases along the entire west coast. In the southeast part it does not increase so much.

Eva Melander says there are no plans to implement special measures in Skåne at the moment, but that they may come in the future.

– There may be different measures depending on how the infection develops.

She comes in with a cutting call.

– If you are sick, stay home. Do not go to work, parties or leisure activities.
