The intense schedule of games for both Växjö and Rögle meant that a match was brought forward on Sunday.
The strong Rögle at home who wanted to break his trend with two losses in a row, and he got off to a good start.
Växjö, who did not concede a goal in three games, made a goalkeeper change before the game. Less than five minutes passed before zero was broken and the home team took the lead.
It was Niklas Hansson who scored his third goal of the season.
And it wouldn’t be long before Rögle wandered even further away, from exactly the same position.
But with Simon Ryfors who after a good game of passes through the Växjö area scored the 2-0.
Two match penalties in the first period
Ryfors who extended his scoring suite to eight straight games.
And he ended up downtown again, about eight minutes later.
Then it was Marcus Sylvegård who gave Ryfors a little slap, gave him again and then the hug party started.
A hugging party that ended in two match penalties, in Sylvegård and Ryfors, and 2 + 2 in both Moritz Seider and Pontus Holmberg.
Sylvegård also got an extra two minutes, who started the “fight”.
Then it was until the middle of the second period before the next goal came, also from Rögle.
Daniel Zaar, who fooled the entire Växjö defense when he slipped behind the area and threw the puck to a completely free Everberg in front of the area.
Växjö rose in third place
In a third period, the reduction occurred rapidly.
“We have to get more pucks towards goal” is a cliché.
But sometimes it’s just that.
Richard Gynge didn’t have time to finish before passing the extended goal line, so he decided to throw the puck into goal.
Right on Rifalk and ready for reduction at the start of third period.
Then Växjö got up and pushed hard for another lowering to increase the tension at the end.
– We raise our game, we play more direct and precise. Unfortunately we don’t have the strength to carry him to the end but he’s close but not close enough, says Sam Hallam to C more after the match.
And they did.
With two minutes remaining, Emil Pettersson reduced immediately after the coach with a shot from the right wing … a minute later Adam Tambellini closed the game with a goal in the open area.
Rögle took with him his seventh consecutive victory at home.
