Silence on gun thefts in Rosenbad

The thefts of several pistols and hundreds of cartridges from a gun room in government offices have proven difficult to investigate. After 17 months, a single interrogation has been carried out, reports Dagens Juridik.

In total, there are at least ten pistols that have disappeared. Only one has been found, in a boy who was later convicted of attempting to assassinate a leader of a criminal network.

A man in his 30s who worked for Securitas as a security guard in government offices was arrested, questioned, and arrested at an early stage. But he was not asked to be detained, released, and has been abroad for some time.

Prosecutor Lucas Eriksson tells Dagens Juridik that he will make a decision on possible prosecution soon, but that “the state of the evidence is not that good” and that the suspect does not want to return to Sweden. The suspect’s lawyer says the man is not staying away and that they are awaiting a prosecutor’s decision.
