The woman who was shot by police while entering the Capitol during protests in Washington DC died of her injuries.

City police told The Washington Post and NBC.

The information comes at a time when a curfew is taking effect in the US capital. The curfew applies from 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday to 6:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, local time.

Just over half an hour before the curfew went into effect, police began to drive protesters off the Capitol steps. Then there were a few dozen protesters on the stairs and a few thousand more within walking distance.

Various media outlets are reporting a series of minor unrest in the city when tens of thousands of Trump supporters, voluntarily or with protests, left the area around the Capitol.

President Donald Trump, who has been urged by politicians from both parties to try to pour oil on the waves, continued at midnight to call the protesters patriots and argued they had stolen the election.

“This is what happens when fine patriots, who until now have been treated badly and unfairly with cruelty and cruelty, are deprived of a fantastic landslide victory,” he wrote on Twitter.
