On Saturday, people from across the country gathered to see when this year’s training awards were distributed at Berns in Stockholm. Sigtuna was nominated in the category of Gym of the Year in the form of WE Sigtuna and in the PT category of the year by Therese Berkovits, who works at WE. When the winners were called, it was clear that both WE Sigtuna and Therese Berkovits had won.
– It feels totally unreal. I’m floating in the clouds and I still haven’t understood. This is usually said to be like earning an Oscar in the training industry. It feels great fun, says Therese Berkovits.
Therese Berkovits won with the motivation that she does her job with “heart and soul” and she herself believes that her great commitment was crucial. But about 20 years ago, he was told that he could never work with training.
– I had fibromyalgia when I was 20 years old and a whiplash injury when I was 22 years old. I was on sick leave for several years and they did an investigation where they found out that I can’t work, definitely not physically. Therefore, this feels like revenge. Don’t let anyone tell you what you can or can’t do, it’s a thought I try to use with my clients, says Therese Berkovits.
She sees her workplace as her second home and thinks she knows what makes WE Sigtuna the gym of the year 2017.
– People come here and feel that it doesn’t have to be anything. Everyone is welcome here and everyone performs according to their own abilities. It permeates the entire gym, says Therese Berkovits.
