With 55 new cases of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, Oslo reports its second highest number in the last seven days. Last Thursday, the number was 68 and then dropped to 22 and 26 respectively at the beginning of the week, according to Dagbladet.
Yesterday, Oslo introduced a ban for crowds of more than ten people and issued recommendations for wearing mouth guards in public contexts.
But now the municipality is considering that mouth guards should be a requirement in all places where it is not possible to maintain a distance of one meter, according to NRK.
“Don’t get infection control”
– Since we did not achieve infection control in Oslo, we must consider much stricter measures. One measure we are considering is requiring mouth protection, City Council Leader Raymond Johansen tells NRK.
In recent weeks, Norway has seen an increase in crown drops and has been forced to slow down the relief of planned restrictions in the country.
– 14 days ago, there were indications that the infection situation was decreasing. Two weeks later, we see infection rates increasing and we are still on unsafe ground, Prime Minister Erna Solberg said at a press conference in early September, according to NRK.
