Several roads in Västerbotten have been filled with ice and snow, which has made road conditions dangerous. Cars circulate in caravans, local media report.
The Swedish Transport Administration marks on its website, among other things, the E12 at Lycksele, the E45 between Dorotea and Vilhelmina and the 360 road. SMHI has issued a class 1 warning for sudden ice slides in Västerbotten and Norrbotten.
According to Västerbottens-Kuriren, the situation at E12 overnight has been almost chaotic. There has been so much snow on the road that it has ironed under the car and people have had to drive in a caravan at 50 kilometers per hour.
The skid is expected to continue overnight, but softer air from the south will come in later in the morning.
– It will press with soft air tomorrow, says Arvid Olsen, a meteorologist at SMHI, and explains that it can be 2 to 3 degrees or more in some places.
