It is now considered that the work with sampling, infection monitoring and infection control can be handled within regular operations.
– Now we are entering another phase and therefore we have decided to leave the staff situation, says Mikael Köhler, director of health and medical care in the Uppsala region.
A survey conducted by SVT shows that 14 of the 21 regions of the country have left their staff positions and returned to normal preparation.
– We no longer need to handle the corona pandemic as a special event, says care director Jessica Frisk, in the Östergötland region.
Must be able to make quick decisions
When the situation was most difficult, all regions had increased their preparation. Everyone has been in personal mode at some point during the spring, the first step. Several went into backup mode and the Stockholm region even considered disaster mode. However, so far no one has had to go.
The purpose of emergency situations is, among other things, to be able to make quick decisions and create more places of care.
Be prepared
Today, seven regions are still in personal mode, but none are in boost mode. The situation has improved significantly compared to this spring. In the Uppsala region, for example, at most more than 125 patients were treated at the same time for covid-19, today it is just over 10.
However, several regions indicate that the situation can change rapidly and that they are prepared to change again.
– The danger of covid-19 is definitely not over, says Mikael Köhler, director of health and medical care in the Uppsala region.
