– I have no information on whether they needed ambulance care or not. It is also unclear if the cobblestone that hit the individual was aimed at her or if the person simply got in the way, Evelina Olsson, a press spokeswoman for the Southern Police Region, tells TT.
Five people have been arrested and three of them have been arrested on suspicion of violent disturbances and sabotage against the blue light authority, according to P4 Blekinge. A report of violence against an official has been made in connection with the injured police officer.
It was during the night of Saturday that about 20 people gathered in Ronneby and behaved violently. The rescue service rushed to a small fire in the center at 10:30 p.m., but had to wait for the police because stones were thrown at them and at shop windows in the area.
– We had a great resource in place and the riots lasted until two in the evening, says Evelina Olsson.
TT: Does this have something to do with the riots in Malmö over the weekend?
– We cannot answer that until we have questioned the suspects and heard what they say. At the moment, we have no information on any motive, says Evelina Olsson.
