During the night until Sunday, several police cars were sabotaged outside the nightclubs in Södermalm in Stockholm.

– It is probably the resentment against the police that is behind, but it only affects others, says Viktor Adolphson, the external officer of the Södermalm police.

Two cars were parked on the street when the police intervened at the restaurants. When the cars were unattended, the tires would break.

– They took care when the police were not around. These are probably people who don’t like the police, and you can do it. But we are not the ones affected, says Viktor Adolphson and continues:

– We need to change cars and it takes time. It can mean that we slow down when we need to save lives. And then there will be a cost that will affect taxpayers in a completely unnecessary way.

Kicked out the rearview mirror

In a third police car, a rear view mirror was ripped off after police disrupted a house party. There, the police were on the scene and could see who did it.

– It’s probably youth frustration. But it feels so useless, like an unnecessary blow in the air.

All incidents are classified as blue light sabotage. Now they will try to find the saboteurs with the help of film material, says Viktor Adolphson.

– Such matters should be prioritized by us, so I assume this will be further investigated. In pub settings, there are often surveillance cameras, from which you can retrieve material.
