Several restaurants and bars in large cities showed deficiencies in preventing the spread of the infection during the elections.
Three pubs in Gothenburg and two pubs in Stockholm are at risk of closing after inspections.
The taverns are notified to the infection control units of the regions, which decide to close, after the controls of the municipalities.
The three pubs in Gothenburg that are at risk of closing are located in central parts of the city.
“There was extremely large congestion there,” says Angelica Winter, director of environmental management in Gothenburg to the Gothenburg Post.
Five other sites received comments without being notified to the infection control unit.
Crowded in stockholm
Last weekend, five taverns were temporarily closed in Stockholm, and this week a tavern in Södertälje was closed, following a decision by the Infection Protection Unit. Now two new places in Södermalm risk the same.
“It was crowded between tables and in line to pick up food,” says Kristine Fornander, acting director of the environmental administration in Stockholm.
During the weekend, the controls continue, and not only in the central districts as before.
– We will be in the suburbs this weekend, Fornander says.
Not the same in Malmö
Several checks were also carried out in the Malmö center.
“One had a deviation but not so serious that we went to the infection protection unit,” says Arvid Nordlander, manager of the environmental administration unit in Malmö.
TT: Why not?
– We give the business the opportunity to remedy the deficiencies by themselves and, if they do not solve it within a few days, we transfer it to the infection protection unit.
