Last night, four people were arrested after throwing Molotov cocktails at a gas station in Märsta, Sigtuna municipality. The four people are suspected of preparing for general destruction.
During the night until Monday, Molotov cocktails were also thrown at Sigtuna town hall. According to the Stockholm Police, the detainees are believed to be involved in various events in the area.
– There have also been car fires in the area in recent days and we believe this is related to the riots we have seen recently, says Anders Bryngelsson, press secretary of the Stockholm Police.
Could there have been more involved?
– We absolutely do not rule that out at the moment.
According to information from Aftonbladet, three of the four detainees have links to a criminal network. But the police are silent and do not want to comment for the moment if the detainees are already known.
Stockholm police say they have increased the police presence in the area and are cooperating with the municipality.
