I have been aware that the digitization of television broadcasts is underway, but I didn’t think much more about it until recently, when a friend had to replace his television receiver with a much newer one.
Obviously, you must have a 2008 or later television to be able to convert your television to digital television. Many people have an older television. I bought mine in 2000 and did not intend to replace it. Is it reasonable to have to replace your fully functional TV with a modern flat screen TV?
That’s incredibly stupid to introduce this digital, so that many feel compelled to scrap their working television. It will be like supporting the terrible consumer society, which is eating away our ruined planet.
You can certainly get a digital box for almost 600 crowns, but for that price you can get a newer used TV.
There are probably many people, especially older people, who are upset about this and who would not think of replacing their television receiver with a modern one just to go with the flow and be like everyone else in the consumer society.
That should be enough with these innovations!
