37 years have passed since Recep rescued the wounded swan.
Recep Mirzan and his friends took a shortcut with the car and later found an injured swan. He had injured one of his wings and was next to an open field.
It has been 37 years since animal friend Recep brought her home to care for the injury.
– I told myself that I would take her home instead of leaving her for the foxes, says Recep to the AP news agency.
The swan’s name was Garip and he has since followed Recep during his daily tasks on the farm in Karaagac, Turkey.
Without a doubt, the environment seems to have been favorable for Garip. According to the British Swan Sanctuary, wild swans are around 12 years old. In captivity, they can live up to 30 years.
