Three men were detained as they were about to leave the country, according to information from Aftonbladet.
The National Task Force detained three men inside the Arlanda airport on Saturday, August 15.
The intervention took place on behalf of the Security Police.
– This effort was made to bring in three people for questioning. They have been released after questioning, Gabriel Wernstedt, Säpo’s press secretary, previously said.
The trio was under recognition
Neither the security prosecutor nor the Säpo want to comment on the investigation in more detail or comment on the criminal classifications.
But according to new information from Aftonbladet, the case must have links to violent right-wing extremism.
The three men are suspected of an alleged preparatory crime, Aftonbladet sources claim.
The prosecutor declined to comment on how long the investigation against the men has taken. But in Aftonbladet’s experience, the intervention against the three alleged right-wing extremists took place after a period of recognition efforts.
When the Security Police opened their eyes to the men, he is a stranger to Aftonbladet.
Theory of the purpose of the trip
The trio were booked on a plane to Ukraine when they were detained in Arlanda, according to several sources to Aftonbladet.
The trip, according to Security Police theory, is believed to have been related to the preparatory crime, says Aftonbladet’s informant.
The preliminary investigation is led by Säpo in conjunction with the National Security Targets Unit. The prosecutor does not want to comment on Aftonbladet’s information but says that the case is linked to “one of the areas of activity of the Security Police.”
– There is nothing new to report. The situation has not changed at all. Work is in progress, that’s all I can say, says Per Lindqvist, chief prosecutor for the National Security Targets Unit.
