The incident occurred last summer in Lund Central in connection with a train change.

According to an internal disciplinary investigation, the police must have realized the mistake relatively quickly and then suffered “a sense of panic”.

When the police officer understood the extent of the errors, he should have immediately caught a train back to Lund.

The bag did not end up in the wrong hands, but had already been tended to by the security guards at the central station.

“Inattention”

According to the regulations of the Police Authority, a police officer must handle firearms, ammunition and auxiliary equipment in such a way that no unauthorized person can access them.

The employer has had discussions with the corresponding police. It has emerged from these that the police have never before lost service-related items in this way.

The police officer has stated that the errors in Lund Central were caused by “one second of inattention” in relation to the police employee who received a phone call on the platform.

The Security Police Personnel Responsibility Committee concludes that due to the error of the police employee there was an obvious risk that someone from outside could walk over the equipment.

Therefore, the police officer is sanctioned with a salary deduction.
