Sebastian Samuelsson started shooting fully both vertically and horizontally and had a 48-second lead after the second shot.
The first barrier came in the third, but 51 seconds behind the second Tomas Mikyska, Samuelsson still had the situation under control.
But despite that, it was a nervous last shot. Samuelsson, who could afford to block two shots, started with two booms in a row in the dense Idre fog. Despite the pressure situation, the Swede managed to collect and make the last three shots.
– I’m a little disappointed with the last shot. I go in alone and it’s a bit windy. But I know I can do good competition and maybe overthink, Samuelsson tells SVT Sport.
Strong wind
At the finish he was 30.6 seconds ahead of second Tomas Mikyska and thus became the Swedish champion in the short distance.
– It was difficult today. The wind comes and goes. Standing was fine, but when lying it was important to be in the attic. I’m still happy to have kept it together, Samuelsson says.
Samuelsson was stronger even yesterday when he won the sprint at Idre.
Jesper Nelin, who finished second yesterday, just one second behind Samuelsson, finished third despite landing in a total of five booms.
– I’m really disappointed in the last battle. I felt like I was holding it, but maybe I would get a little passive and lose the trigger by a few thousandths, Nelin tells SVT Sport.
– The lying shooter is just insecure, I really tried to fight but there was a barrier too much.
