Samuel Ersson replaced after five minutes

Brynäs entered the match against Örebro on the road with two losses in a row in the bag. Then Gävle’s team got off to a nightmare start.

It took Christopher Mastomäki only 47 seconds to find the net and give home side Örebro the lead, and before the clock ticked past five minutes, Brynäs had let in three pucks.

2-0 came 4.39 into the match when Ludvig Rensfeldt pushed a puck that Samuel Ersson couldn’t control. After a video review, the goal was approved as the puck had just crossed the finish line before Ersson caught it. 18 seconds later it was time again when Linus Öberg saw his puck fluttering to find the net.

The defensive collapse prompted coach Peter Andersson to act. Following Örebro’s third goal, he opted to replace successful goalkeeper Samuel Ersson, who was selected to the national team on Monday, with Viktor Andrén.

– It is not approved to start as we do, it is not right to let three in so fast, Brynäs captain Simon Bertilsson tells C More after the game.

Penalty missed in the second period without goals

The change of goalkeeper stopped the bleeding and the first half ended 3-0 for Örebro.

Nine minutes into the second half, Brynäs had a chance to make contact in the match when Samuel Solem came free, was hooked and received a penalty. Star forward Patrik Begrlund had a chance against Jonas Arntzen, but the puck didn’t want to break through the Örebro goalkeeper’s leg protection. Instead, the second period ended goalless.

In the third period, it was Brynäs who pushed for a reduction but to no avail.

The first five minutes were therefore decisive in the match as no further goals fell in the match that ended with a 3-0 victory for Örebro.

– Everyone should think of themselves and think if they did the best they could and I don’t think many did, except Solem Kvist and Sallinen, says Simon Bertilsson on C More.
