Sahlgrenska comments on the leak of the secret plan of the epidemic.

Sahlgrenska University Hospital’s secret pandemic plan was suddenly searchable and completely open for reading on the internet. When DN asked questions about the plan, it was immediately removed and an investigation into the incident was launched.

– We do not know how long the document has been and we do not know how it could have happened. These are important questions for the event analysis being done now, says Göran Matejka, deputy director of the hospital in Sahlgrenska.

The plan consists of twelve pages and describes how and where covidual patients in the Gothenburg area should be cared for. When DN previously requested to read the document, the hospital referred to secrecy, something that two legal bodies also supported to a great extent, referring, among other things, to national security.

– I cannot comment on how the leak damages our work, but it is an increasing sharpening of how we see information about the capacity of society, which should be public and classified. We tried and got the support of the court. I can’t say more than that, says Göran Matejka.

How do you think your security work works? Is leakage an exception or the tip of an iceberg?

– I probably won’t check ourselves, but that’s why we’re working at a fast pace now. We have to find out if there are other similar events, says Göran Matejka.

The leaked plan was drawn up in late April and was then the third in a row in a short time. During the acute phase of the spring pandemic, several changes were made to the hospital’s pandemic plan, including how the controversial Iva Kronan field hospital would be used. However, no new version has been produced since April. The plan that was open for a period is now valid.

– We have not seen the need to renew the plan, partly because the situation is calmer now. Medical treatment has progressed and patients require shorter attention spans. Fortunately, we don’t have the same burden we did then, at least not yet, says Sahlgrenska hospital deputy director Göran Matejka.
