In a series of articles in Svenska Dagbladet, Liberal leader Nyamko Sabuni is accused by anonymous reporting agents of giving lobbyists too much influence over party politics.
Now Sabuni is addressing the criticism in an interview in today’s industry.
– If there are politicians who think you should sit in closed rooms and create policies without taking into account what is happening in society, we are bad, L leader tells Di.
Critics claim, among other things, that a public relations agency hired by truck maker Scania was behind Sabuni’s 2019 Almedalen proposal for the establishment of an electrification commission. Sabuni tells Di that the proposal was firmly entrenched at the party board, that the issue was already discussed during the previous alliance’s rule and was in line with previous decisions at the 2017 national meeting.
Of the anonymous critics within the party, she says:
– I have raised two children and I tell them to always defend their opinion. And if you can’t bear it, don’t express it. So it’s just gossip.
