At the Hyrex headquarters in Alby, there is full activity. Mats Söderkvist, CEO of Hyrex and the newly created subsidiary Hyrex Industri go through complicated projects with supervisors. Here you will find an impressive collection of solid knowledge, as well as many years of experience.
Hyrex has been assembling and leasing scaffolding, weather protection, rolling scaffolding and fencing since 1979 and today is at the forefront of scaffolding companies in Stockholm and Uppsala. Mats Söderkvist, the CEO of the company, sees a bright future. The scaffolding industry and the construction industry have performed relatively well despite the year 2020.

Make the industry safer
Hyrex works in three sections: short-term jobs in scaffolding service, core business in the form of complex scaffolds, various insurance and weather protection jobs, and the new position in infrastructure and industry. Regardless of assignment, Hyrex makes the industry safer. Mats Söderkvist has seen many competing players come and go, and believes that the key to Hyrex’s success has been the desire to take full responsibility for safety:
– Our focus is always on providing secure positions to our clients. This has resulted in long-term loyal customers and employees, says Mats Söderkvist.
Stable competition is built on education
All employees receive ongoing training in scaffolding erection, fall protection, and working at high altitudes through the Scaffold Contractor Industry Organization (STIB). They work for a safe and secure jobs industry.
KMA documentation (quality, environment and working environment) is another important part of Hyrex’s safety work. Hyrex’s own safety inspector goes to all scaffolds to inspect and test anchors. Documentation is saved and sent to clients.
– Today there are no requirements to have a specific competence with responsibility for safety in the company, but we chose to take this initiative ourselves and centralize the control work, says Mats Söderkvist.
Mats Söderkvist believes that further digitization in the scaffolding industry is a likely development.
– This means important effects for the continued safety of the industry. When a new scaffold is drawn in 3D before assembly, risks and shortcomings can be identified before projects begin. Carefully planned projects result in the best execution and most efficient production, from which everyone benefits.
