Rosie Brennan is in the shape of her life. He followed up the victory in the sprint at Davos by also winning the distance race. It was an American double on the podium when Hailey Swirbul surprised with a third place.

Davos is one of the most classic competition venues of the World Cup, and runners often rank distance races in a high position. This year’s competitions still lacked many sharp names as Nordic riders are not in place.

In the absence of Nordic skiers, and especially Terese Johaugs, the women’s 10km freestyle was an open story with great potential, but it became a previous favorite that stood the test of time.

In difficult conditions, American Rosie Brennan was the fastest. Brennan, who started the season strong and won the sprint yesterday, led from start to finish.

Brennan had a gap of 11 seconds after the middle of the race and finally won by 34 seconds ahead of Russia’s Julia Stupak. The victory means that Brennan is now the new overall World Cup leader as well.

Today’s big surprise was Hailey Swirbul, who finished third. The American achieved her first place on the podium in her career when she was 40 seconds slower than Brennan.
